the graveyard scene and Charming’s “maybe we should have named him Balefire” all read as A and E knowing that they got tons of backlash over Neal’s death, Rumple not mourning him, and naming the baby Neal and are basically trying to give the audience what they want in one fell swoop. The problem is that it reads as them trying to do this instead of it making sense in universe. Charming’s comment about re-naming the baby irks me because it’s like A and E are making fun of their fans and how felt about the baby name
oh the name thing totally is, making fun, even some media asked them after 322, why Neal and not baelfire?and they came up with that stupid thing, of Neal on SB and bae on EF if they go back. Like what?. About the grave is totally about fan service, im sorry, but if you are doing any fan service to SFers, Neal/bae fans is not with grave scenes that you will acomplish that, in fact will make it worst, bc makes the audience even confuse to why only now Rumple remenbers he had a son that died. Also bet that next week will be that Scene of Hnery and rumple, maybe another mention to Bae, as a kid and that`s it, lets all move on , we talked to much about this neal, want to talk about Neal, lets talk about the Baby.
I think it would’ve been even worse to name the baby Baelfire. It would’ve been a real kick in the teeth to Rumple. Although Neal should’ve definitely been a middle name rather than a first name (so Snowing could still “honour” Neal without constantly reminding Emma/Henry/Rumple/Fans that he is dead), at least Neal is a relatively common name compared to Baelfire. Rumple should be the only one able to say “This is my son Baelfire” not Charming.
