And once again tell me how this show doesnt involve around ships?
Everytime A&E claim not to write “ships” I’ll just laugh amused and point at Adam’s comment for the S3 finale, which he called “epic wish fulfillment.” What exactly did he mean by that? He obviously meant epic wish fulfillment for CSers, since nearly the whole two hours revolved around Emma and her pirate suitor.
*halo effect…still alive and kicking on this show*
Sad but true. Where is Cora when you need her?
“Your pretty face buys you a lot, but not my time. It’s too valuable.”
— Cora Mills to Killian Jones
This is what happened so far as I can tell. Yvette Nicole Brown was live tweeting the premiere and said that the “be patient” line from Emma was “hot”
That’s just disturbing. Does this show not realize the poor and dangerous message it’s sending to young women?
What ever happened to women being treated with respect for their own autonomy because they’re people, rather than possessions? Isn’t that what the feminist movement was all about? I started out watching this show because it claimed to be about a modern, edgy heroine discovering what family meant to her. It actually pains me to see Emma being worn down by a relentless pursuer who displays possessive and stalkerish behavior. When did Emma Swan become Bella Swan? Emma doesn’t need to be hounded relentlessly. She has a right to her autonomy and her space. Jeeze louise.
And this whole mess didnt involve her only, involves Yvette( the actress, that was also moderator of the panel on SDCC), and something she( yvette) said about CS, in the kiss being hot, and someone ask her how could she defend that, and say is hot, when he is stalking her, and yvette from what people told me said to this person that her twiter was not a place to go on feminim crusade or something, and then JMo also involved , because she Rt what yvette said and aparentelly **** the Sqers, by hinting that people dont like CS, bc they are people that want SQ to happen( like hiting to a gay agenda against CS to make SQ happen), once again, showing many things , in this, bc there are people that simply dont like the message, and dont have to be SQers, she also forgot SFser that also dont like CS, and some other people that has the right not to like CS, bc yeah, the world doesnt envolve around CS or this show.
I find this mentality more than disturbing. Didn’t Disney make an entire heroine named Belle to oppose this sort of mentality? Replace, Gaston with Hook and you get the picture.
“OMG, how can anyone not want to make out with Hook? He’s sooo hot”
This is the fandom that claims that any woman who doesn’t fall for Hook’s charms must not be attracted to men. Tell me again how being a feminist who dislikes how Hook treats women in general, and Emma in particular, makes me a lesbian. In truth, I prefer men in general but am only attracted to those men who actually regard women with dignity and are actual gentleman. Also, this mentality is in general actually hateful to women who happen to prefer women, since it negatively assumes lesbians must be man-haters (again a harmful stereotype).
