I liked how it linked up to present day and Charming getting through to Elsa because of Anna.
But something about the flashbacks, I just dunno. Maybe it’s because I’m so used to seeing Josh playing Charming as older and braver, and Elizabeth’s just so young and fresh and I don’t have that older association with her character, so seeing her be the older, wiser, braver one in that relationship, the balance was just off and I found it hard to buy that version of David. Or something like that?
The story about his dad left me cold. It felt like, “Meh we don’t have a story for him, and we need a sob story for David, so we’ll just have him be already dead so we never have to deal with him, two birds, one stone.”
