However, there are several indications that there never were any Indians on Neverland–in a flashback in 304 Pan said “It’s lonely in Neverland. The only friends I have are the children who visit in their dreams. But they can’t stay. The boys I take back with me will.” And in a flashback in 308, The Shadow said “I am the sole inhabitant of Neverland[…]Neverland is a place for children to visit in their dreams, not a place for them to live. You were the first to try and stay. And in doing so, you’re breaking the rules.” It sure doesn’t sound like there were ever any Indians in Neverland.
Oh I agree there were never any Natives in NL (Political suicide for one thing…think about how Disney portrays them. The Red Men song makes me cringe whenever I watch PP).
I have had my own headcanons about what Hook was doing and didn’t have anything to do with genocide but because we really don’t know what he did/did not do, it’s harder for me to judge, objectively, where he falls on the scope of Rumple/Regina/villainy. I can only go by what I have seen and mostly I think his misdeeds were of a more personal nature, nothing on a large scale like Regina’s village massacre. Whether or not that makes it “worse” (bad word, stupid word) or not is more subjective, naturally. I, for example, have a very hard time looking past the beating of Belle and then shooting her. I acknowledge that others feel he made up for this with that apology and that those same others can rationalize it viz a viz “revenge” “broken place” “suicidal” “true love died” (we had an entire thread on if Hook was suicidal back in the day…)
