I actually didn’t like the scene between Henry and Rumple, and that’s not just because Neal wasn’t mention once, but that is part of it.
Henry’s motivation for coming to see Rumple seemed too out of character for Henry. Wanting his fake memories back? What? I get that he was made at his mom and hurting. He took it personally that Regina didn’t want to see him. He’s young, he’s allowed to do that – make something about him that’s not really about him. Kids can be melodramatic.
But wanting to forget Regina? That makes no sense. Through every situation, Henry has held on to hope more so than any other character. For him to suddenly lose hope like that felt out of character to me. In season 1, Henry didn’t just forget about Emma when she put up her walls. I was a little insulted (for Regina) that Henry would’ve so easily forgotten her if Rumple had been willing to help out with the magic.
