I…ehh….they need to explain what he’s doing because right now he’s coming across as just selfish, evil, egotistical, and without a purpose which is decidedly not how they used to write him.
I agree. As frustrated as I am with Rumple, I need Adam and Eddy to explain what is going on with Rumple. Although, knowing he’s going after Emma, no explanation is probably going to change the way I feel about him right now.
Even if they just gave Rumple a quick little line like, “I’m doing all this to get Bae back” “I’m doing all this in service of something else that has yet to be mentioned…” good lord…something! Then we dissect and decide how we feel about it but right now it’s only “power for the sake power” with nothing underneath that, and that’s not…well, that’s not Rumple (nor is it Regina, Hook, Cora ect. With perhaps the exception of Pan, the villains have layers and motives behind why they are doing things. At least more than just surface meanings…)
