Question: If things like Emma’s flower tattoo and Mr. Gold’s mood rings were planned since early on back in season 1,

I think his ring was just a ring? Wasn’t Bobby asked about that at some point and he said that it’s just a ring he chose for the character because it looks cool, but maybe the writers will turn it into a “thing” some day if they want? Or am I totally making that up?

Interesting theories. It would be cool if the ring came from Neal, but I’m not sure it did, since we’ve never seen it featured in any of Emma and Neal’s flashbacks before now. I think Emma may have gotten the ring from the Snow Queen, who may have gotten it from Rumple.

It’s probably got Emma’s missing memories stored in it, (it was in an actual box of memories after all). We may not have magic in our world, but magical objects can still retain their magic (like Bae’s shawl), so YAY loophole so the Snow Queen was able to magic away Emma’s memories of her, (God knows how they’re gonna find a loophole big enough to get her into our world to begin with though). If she puts the ring on again now, the missing memories will probably come back. They could probably tie that into Rumple’s ring somehow if they wanted. Like, he always wore the ring because it was enchanted to activate and release his memories when he heard the Saviour’s name, or something. Snow Queen probably gave him his ring back in ye olde FTL as part of a deal.

If they wrote Hook with a brain – which they won’t – they would connect the moment where he was all, “A smile?” after 2.0 was born and the smile she has in this photo, which is that bright, true grin she ONLY has ever gotten when Neal was around (from their time together in Tallahassee through the walk in the woods in 315.) Because there is a marked difference in her being content – which she has been at times since Hook has known her – and her being HAPPY, which is an Emma Swan rarity. He’s never seen her with true, unbridled happiness, and that should present a conundrum. It won’t. But it should.

Also, it should really make him reflect on how cocky he was to Neal about how Emma wouldn’t ever want him back. Being confronted with actual evidence of how happy they were together instead of just hearing half bits of information that “oh yeah they dated once” should be a wakeup call that he was kind of an *expletive* to Neal for not having taken his relationship with Emma at all seriously.

I will say (as much as it pains me) that the final scene was the most genuine I’ve ever seen CS. I mean, I actually didn’t hate it. But again, it’s no coincidence that the emotional touchpoint of the scene did not revolve around them.

Agreed with that to a point. Though, when scrolling through tumblr yesterday, I saw a gifset of the moment he puts his arm around her and she puts her head on his shoulder, and watching just that bit over and over, her expression was really…awkward, kinda uncomfortable? And I get that she WAS awkward and uncomfortable because of the contents of the video they were watching, but just, on the heels of her moment of, “Oh God he’s really dead, he’s really not here, and I need a minute because I kinda can’t breathe and wanna burst into tears,” her expression in that moment with Hook came across kinda like, “Yeah OK, let’s sit here like this, though I kinda would prefer to be alone with my FEELS right now, but, yeah, OK.”
