Well…at least OutlawQueen is confirmed to happen one way or another. Can’t say the same about Rumbelle, but do have hope. OutlawQueen relationship is build on prophecy and fate…something no one can stop. (Hence death continuously attempting to kill Marian.)
I hate to be a downer, but Neal and Emma also met as a result of prophesy and fate, but their tale was one of woe. So, “fate” isn’t always a guarantee of a happy ending (unless fate gets rewritten).
The real problem is that Rumple doesn’t want the gals to get chatty and for SQ to reveal that she and him go way back, because that’s something he’s been keeping from Belle and he’d be busted. So he’s putting the preservation of his secrets and lies over Belle’s need to set something right that she obviously feels passionate about. And he has the hide to say, “I gave you that dagger because I trusted you,” while he’s trying to talk her out of using it, making her feel bad for using it, but she’s not even really using it because she doesn’t even have the real thing, because he doesn’t trust her enough to be honest with her.
That’s what I think, too. Rumple is piling himself higher and deeper.
