If Neal does return, I think it will be in the last half of the final season. I have hope and faith in A&E’s words. With the final season they don’t have to worry about fan pandering anymore. They can get back to what was supposed to be and people stop watching, it wouldn’t matter cause the show would be in its final season. That’s not to say Hook should die or shouldn’t get his own happy ending (I guess?) but I just don’t see Emma’s happy ending being with him. Even if it weren’t with Neal or anyone else (I would love it if Emma were the first ever single mother princess). Neal would be brought back, mend his relationship to Emma (romantic or otherwise) and his relationship with his papa and finally be there for his son, breaking that horrible cycle. Thats my headcannon and im sticking to it until the final season proves me wrong v_v
