As I was reading the last few posts, I was thinking exactly that, then you beat me to saying it. #onebrain
*Vulcan mind meld*
It did seem to me that the mirror drew out less than favourable things that Belle had been pushing to the back of her mind and made her confront them. There was a little list of doubts and fears that MirrorBelle rattled off. Emma’s got her own little building list, with things like the blondes comment, and also Will’s comment about getting in good with the kid. In cases like those, Emma momentarily reacts, then seems to just brush them off. They’re all ending up dwelling in her subconscious, same as the things Belle didn’t wanna think about in regards to Rumple. So if the mirror brought those things to the forefront for Belle, it should by rights do the same for Emma.
It’s always been one of my biggest problems with CS. How could Emma disregard Hook leaving her and the princess gang for dead? How could Emma willfully turn a blind eye to the fact Hook assisted Greg and Tamara in activating the dimond of doom and then made off with the only remaining magic bean? Yeah, he turned around to help everyone get to NL, but it would’ve been too late had it not been for Regina and Emma’s combined magical efforts. Regina certainly hasn’t forgotten that Hook left her to be tortured by Greg Mendel. Regina was one of the few in S3 to remember the villain Hook is capable of being. It takes one to know one I guess. Belle remembered how Hook repeatedly tried to kill her, but Emma somehow accpted Hook’s fake apology? I dunno what to make of it. Willfully allowing themselves think Hook has changed seems to be a thing for the Charmings now.
