As for the lights flickering thing when Henry was born, I always interpreted that scene as Emma’s always had magic inside of her (she is the product of true love after all).
Well, I happen to think Henry is the product of true love, too, but that is a serious point of contention, I know. I’ll say that I don’t think it was Emma who made the lights flicker when Henry was born. I think it was Henry who did that. After all, it was directly paralleled to when baby Neal was born and the lights flickered. Snow didn’t do that, since she doesn’t have magic. Baby Neal did, just as I think Henry did.
I’m not sure if Henry has magic. If he did, I think it would have manifested itself a long time ago to be honest.
Well, I think Henry’s magic has yet to manifest itself. Just because it hasn’t yet, doesn’t mean it never will. In that the deleted scene from 4×2, Henry talks to Rumple about what his lineage might mean.
Rumple: You only think you can’t stand it, but you can. You know why? You have the lineage of the dark one, plus the blood of the savior running through your veins.
Henry: Does that mean something?
Rumple: Time will tell, but only if you let things unfold as they ought.
My own conclusion is that this is a major hint of things to come. I believe Henry’s lineage of being born of Emma and Baelfire, as well as being raised by Regina, will culminate in Henry being a very powerful young wizard.
Remember, he couldn’t remove his heart in Neverland, Pan had to put an enchantment on him in order for it be removed. And Henry couldn’t put an enchantment on his own heart in order for it to be protected, Regina had to do that.
I remember. But Peter Pan required Henry to remove his own heart. Why is that? Well possibly because Peter Pan couldn’t remove it by force, but if Henry gave it willingly, it’s a gift, not a stolen thing. The reason Henry couldn’t put an enchantment on his own heart may have been because his own magic has yet to manifest, but as I said, I think that revelation has yet to come.
Emma can’t take her heart either–no one can.
Do we know for sure Emma can’t remove her own heart? We’ve never seen her try have we? We’ve only seen Cora fail at attempting to steal it. It might be Emma could remove her own heart if she so chose, but no one else could.
