Remember my wishful-thinking theory posted about 20 pages back…
So I was thinking more about the scene of Emma holding the swan necklace. Rumple said that “Sometimes, with enough love, ordinary objects can come to possess their own special kind of magic.” Could that swan necklace have a part to play in the story still? What other objects have we seen have their own special type of magic? We’ve see Snow’s engagement ring have a magic that led Charming to his true love in S1. We saw Belle’s cup be used as her talisman to help her regain her true memories in S2. Rumple also used Bae’s shaw to protect his memories in the real world. We saw the swan necklace travel realms in S3. That swan pendant likely has magic of its own.
Now in S4 we also have a few more “ordinary objects” with their own special kind of magic: the ribbons that Ingrid and her sisters wore and the snowflake necklace that Elsa gave to Anna. I don’t know quite how these ordinary items will impact the story, if at all, but I just find it interesting that Emma was clutching at her necklace just as her own magic was on the fritz.
Elsa and Emma are now wearing the yellow ribbons that Ingrid and her sisters wore, so I’m guessing that Elsa and Emma are going to be affected by them, and not in a good way. Could the swan necklace Emma has and the snowflake necklace Elsa has help them overcome Ingrid’s influence on them?
Both the snowflake necklace and the swan necklace seem to be imbued with true love magic, so it could be a thing. I *know* this is probably wishful thinking on my part, but I just thought I’d mention it after DSB brought our attention to Emma holding the necklace.
There was also this official ABC promo for S4 that JMo tweeted:

Now I *know* that the swan pendant is likely just being used as a symbol for Emma, the way say the sword is a symbol for David or the bow/arrow is for Snow, but I still thought it would be cool to use to support this totally-wishful-thinking crack theory.
Well now there is actually a solid thing I believe might lend support to this theory. *Runs and hides from RG *
It seems I might be correct in at least half of my theory about the snowflake necklace being what helps Elsa now that she’s linked to Ingrid via the yellow ribbon. There is a spoiler video which reveals Emma is holding what appears to be a necklace when she and Elsa find Anna and Kristoff in a trunk on a beach. I think that it’s the snowflake necklace, which was born of sisterly true love, that leads Elsa to Anna. The snowflake necklace seems to have a special kind of magic of its own, which has important potential implications for the swan necklace. So we have the snowflake necklace playing an important role in reuniting sisters. Could the swan necklace actually also come to play an important role for Emma in the story? After all, it was born of true love.
