You know how Hook is sometimes compared to Han Solo especially since Emma gave the “Princess Leia” fake name. Well turns out the original scripting for the scene where Han Solo is about to be encased in carbonite and Leia proclaims her love for him, was meant to have Han reply with “I love you too”. (The “I know” line was an improvisation by Harrison Ford). What does this have to do with Once and more specifically SF?
When Emma thought she was about to lose Neal forever down the portal in SSTTR and proclaimed her love for him, he replied with “I love you too”.
Considering Once was doing Star Wars nods, this scene could easily be another nod.
Neal was Once’s Han Solo.
