I know Fox has a Grease Live in the works,
do they really?? Interesting. (Also, odd choice of station with Fox being smaller than the three biggies)
Personally. I’d like for them to stay away from Disney, just because of how beloved those are–try as they might, they won’t “match” the Disney. And I know that’s not the point, but humans being what they are…can’t help but draw a comparison.
I guess for me it would be Wicked
Yep, a Grease Live for Fox is set to air next year: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/fox-orders-grease-live-broadcast-699348
As for the Disney thing, their Broadway shows have actually been successful, so I don’t see those being an issue for viewers. The Lion King on Broadway actually broke the record for the most grossing Broadway musical of all time, and Beauty & The Beast is still the 8th longest running Broadway musical.
Wicked would have a lot of potential, but I don’t see that happening until after that rumored movie version finally happens. Other suggestions I would like to see would be Les Miserables (perhaps to make up to the fans who weren’t fond of the movie, especially Russell Crowe’s Javert), Phantom of the Opera, and Spamalot (probably not as wide appealing enough to pursue, sadly).
