I think they’ll have to stick to family friendly musicals.  They want to appeal to the broadest audience.  I also think sticking to the older ones might be the way they want to go.

PBS airs broadway musicals frequently…Les Mis, Phantom, Cats, (and others not ALW).   They tape the broadway versions and show them so you get a good stage experience.  Check your local listings and you can see quite a few of them.

Thinking in the family friendly vein, as Nonnie suggested, Once Upon a Mattress would be a cute option (the one ABC did years ago is very good with Carol Burnett, Tracy Ullman, Zoey Dechanel and Matthew Morrison) or even R&H’s Cinderella.
