The way Rumple reacted to Hook’s question about where’s the missus and if she’d succumbed to the spell yet suggests that SOMETHING happened–if nothing else, that he’s feeling guilty for having used magic to put her to sleep while he packs.
Though it’s also a callback to how Hook teased a Rumple when he took Milah with him on the Jolly Roger all those centuries ago. Rumple’s annoyance at how Hook is constantly talking about Belle to him is completely understandable in that context (though Hook totally gets that Belle is probably his one chance at persuading Rumple to soften his plans even a little). And of course Hook’s got a history of hurting Belle herself, which ties into all that, too.
The relationship between Hook and Rumple is fascinating and well choreographed, even if Rumple’s current motivation is confusing.
