I have always had a huge soft spot for villains, so I guess my side has already been determined. They are, in my opinion, more interesting than the heroes the vast majority of the time.
As far as Maleficent and Regina are concerned: I want to see seething resentment coming from Maleficent for what Regina did to her, and I will not be happy if it is just swept under the rug. Regina abused Maleficent (her ‘friend’!!!) during the curse, and I don’t think it’s ok to excuse that kind of thing, even when the one being abused is a ‘bad guy’.
Parilla calls Maleficent a ‘sorceress’ but I’m hoping she just misspoke, because I really want Maleficent to be a fairy (as is the case in the original tale, the Disney classic, and the live-action). I was hoping that Cruella would be be a sorceress, and that Ursula would be something we’ve not seen before on OUAT, like a siren or something.
