Students
As I sit here on Sunday night and I turn on Once Upon a Time I see my former student Mike Weverstad and last night I saw Tim Robinson on Saturday Night Live. I had both students when they were in 8th grade and thinking about it they would not have been honor students and they would not have been student of the month. The difference about them was that they were students that always believed in themselves. They had strong personalities and a different look on the world. I remember Tim bring pictures to me to show me he was in a parade dressed as a clown and could not wait to go to clown college. Then I saw him on stage at second city in Novi and now on Saturday Night Live. Following a dream and a path. I took Mike and some other students to a Tiger game and while at the game the Detroit Police took us down stairs because someone brought a beach ball into the bleachers and how when we got back to our seats he was telling the other fans that they could not hold us. Now I see him in shows, his own show Terriers, and in movies again following his dreams. It makes me stop and think that the student that sits in the back and daydreams and talks about things that the other kids don’t understand and then comes to you and talks about the off the wall things they are thinking about maybe the next doctor, actor, scientist, thinker or who knows President. It makes me stop everyday and listen to those weird sounding stories because those might be the “Hey I had her, him in class” Peariso
