if the hat was used to trap dark creatures…. I wonder why no one ever tried to trap the Dark One. I mean it’ have been easy too. Zoso was under Dude-With-Face Guy’s control presumably for awhile. Sorcerer could have easily put a sleeping spell on him, took the dagger,summoned the dark one, sucked him into hat, goodbye dark one…. Unless…. Sorcerer is The Original Dark One:o
Interesting theory. It could be one of those things where the sorcerer created it for the intention of good (ridding the world of “dark” creatures) but then it’s purpose got corrupted and it started being used for evil and the sorcerer regretted ever creating it.
How has the apprentice lived so long if only the dark one is supposed to be immortal?
