I think it didn’t make sense because August was lying about it, trying to distract the QoD
I’d considered that. But we never got an alternate story as to how he really got all that stuff, so I figure we’re just supposed to assume it was meant to be the truth. And if he was lying about where he got it from, why make a specific reference to a character the audience will make a connection to, if he could have just said any random old thing?
