Seeds of this idea were planted in the 415, first when Killian mentions that he should have plunged the dagger into Rumples chest to Emma and then on board the Jolly Roger with Poseidon when he spoke of finally getting his revenge.
Agreed that they put those moments in 415 for a reason. But they also had Emma say that’d she stab Rumple through the heart as well. So, agreed that we’ll be seeing a new Dark One in some sort of AU style season finale. Just up in the air as to Hook or Emma
