that is a VERY good question. Did the Apprentice cause Lily to become “darker” by telling her about her darkness to being with??
While I think the Apprentice is in the same league of shadiness as the Blue Fairy, I’m not sure that it was his intention to make things worse (but maybe he did, despite his intentions) He said to Lily, “I shouldn’t even be telling you this,” which makes me think he was more concerned with trying to right a wrong by telling her the truth. However, he chose a bad time.
And also, he should’ve offered to help her. Maybe he did, but she rejected it (what with Lily being who she is and making bad choices all the time). If that’s the case, then Lily still made her own decisions.
I still wonder though if the Apprentice has been tasked with seeing that Lily turns into the next Apprentice (he’s looking pretty old). The Sorcerer said Emma and Lily’s fates had been entwined even before the Apprentice drove Emma’s potential for darkness into Lily (something I’m not sure actually happened, seeing how the Chernabog still went after Emma for having the darkness potential).
Why is that? Does the Sorcerer know Lily is special like Emma? What is Lily’s destiny? Was Lily special even before the Author screwed up her life?
