I don’t think Roland would’ve been ring bearer for the fact that he’d be terrified of Rumple considering Rumple aimed an arrow at his face. Sure, Rumple was being controlled but Roland is hardly going to understand that. As far as he is concerned, Rumple tried to hurt him.
