Looking back, Robin nearly dying in The Price (5×2) really does seem like heavy foreshadowing of his eventual demise. While Regina and Emma managed to save him temporarily, no price was really ever paid for Emma’s use of dark magic. Perhaps Robin dying now is like a delayed price being collected by Hades.
That makes sense except I have to wonder what prevents everyone from going back down to the Underworld and saving Robin? They clearly don’t care much about consequences–the characters or the writers. What price did Snow and Charming have to pay? Hook’s price for Merlin was (I guess) his death but that’s being undone. So…why can’t they save Robin?
