Yeah. Belle’s in a bad place right now–she just learned that her husband sold her child before they ever created it, her husband took back the DO powers just when he was free of them, and her husband killed her ex as well as his…and then because of all that SHE had to doublekill her ex which is serious trauma for her, plus her baby is STILL in danger and she’s not exactly thinking clearly. We know how far she was willing to go years after she accidentally hurt Anna.
She’s not trying to manipulate Rumple here. She’s doing a very, very silly thing to try to protect her baby from a new danger that has her terrified in this situation. I don’t think it’s entirely out of character and I don’t think she’s trying to control anything except for Hades’ ability to take her child from her.
I do think it was a very stupid writing decision, however. The couple was making actual progress toward a place where they could reconcile…and that’s been stopped cold by one party being out of the picture.
