Hook may have had good intentions in this episode, but that seems like a weak explanation for why he ‘deserved’ to come back. There’s no way Hook was the first person ever to intend to kill Hades. He just happened to benefit from these massive slices of luck:
1) Hades being out of the UW, so it was possible to sneak into his throne room.
2) Having Arthur with him to find the pages in the throne.
3) Zelena killing Hades at the same time that Hook wanted to.
But it all just comes back to the fact that any slight good that Hook does is given a disproportionately large weight, whereas his misdeeds are given a ridiculously low weight.
