Characters are more interesting when they have flaws. Moreover, they are more interesting when these flaws are acknowledged because then it creates organic conflicts. The problem with Hook and Emma and their relationship and why it feels so forced is because the writers don’t want to acknowledge any flaws with these two, individually and together as a couple, and when they do drop something about Emma making mistakes throughout the season, we have Snow White denying that and talking nonesense about love or hope.
