The mere fact JMo said aloud that she was instructed to stay close to Colin, and Emilie jokingly pointing it out sort of gives it away that even they have discussed the wool they’re struggling to pull over certain fans eyes. Instead of being themselves, they have to be their characters, so ABC or Adam/Eddy must have some serious control issues.
And Colin really is a nice guy, but like you all said…he’s not the “hot guy who’ll rip his shirt off to impress the fans”…he seems much more quiet, meek, and humble than that, and seems to want to be taken seriously as an actor rather than being drooled over all the time. And that’s what Adam & Eddy aren’t even giving him, and when they tried to…it came at the expense of JMo’s important character arc in Season 5. At this point, it nearly looks as if they don’t know how to tell Hook or Emma’s story without mingling it with their “true love”. (eye roll)
Hook can’t stand on his own, and Emma is being slowly pulled to the same level….and I’m sure JMo & Colin sees this and it frustrates them to no end. Not to mention having to deal with a crazed fandom that knows no boundaries, “Colifer” much like “Seana” or “Remille” is fine if it’s just a BroTP, but shipping them in real life is where the problem comes! There is a serious issue when this fandom cannot see fiction from reality! And because Adam/Eddy or ABC don’t speak out against this, they’re encouraging this behavior by “instructing” the actors to remain as their characters 24/7 when under the public spot light.
They character assassinated and sidelined Ginny & Josh after Season 3, flip flopped and destroyed an essential part of Bobby’s storyline, have literally tormented the hell out of Lana’s character, weakened JMo’s character to the near point of not even being recognizable…the original Core 5 have been so mistreated by this show, at this point…I could see the possible Season 7 being nothing but guest stars, shiny things, retcons, & PLOT…but then again, haven’t we been getting that already?
