Emma’s role as savior was always to break the curse and then “the final battle would begin” so maybe she still has some major role left to play as the savior. Whatever that is.
Did Jafar curse Agrabah?
If this took place after Wonderland, it could very well have been Jafar using his genie powers to takeover Agrabah. I mean it doesn’t seem like, as the prince, that he really cared to rule it, but who knows. He could have taken it over and Aladdin helped to defeat him. But we know this takes place before Wonderland… So idk. What makes Aladdin a savior? That is the question.
Aladdin is a “Diamond In The Rough” so maybe that’s related?
I’m sure Emma is going to be questioning that herself in season 6.
