More insight, in regards to why the novels and comics are still canon, while the deleted scenes aren’t:
we design the comics knowing we want them to be canon. They are "final drafts" — deleted scenes are works in progress

nope. Deleted scenes are not final drafts in any way shape or form. A lot of work goes into them after they're shot on set
