Well, yes. It’s supposed to be completely analogous to what happened in Camelot. And it gets romanticized as “when you love someone, you’ll do anything for them, even go against their wishes and desires because you know what’s best for them, for you, and for the pair of you.”
Whether or not this constitutes a healthy, adult relationship—and whether the romanticized aspect applies equally to all ships on the show–is the sticking point.
