I don’t think it was a good storytelling choice to kill RH off at all. Hook aside (whom I think should have died heroically at the end of season 3, helping Rump to defeat Pan, burying the hatchet and solidifying himself as a hero) I don’t see what purpose it serves to have killed RH, especially with him just having a baby newborn. The writers really must not have felt we as an audience would care about him, or they wanted to use it as an excuse to bring back out Regina’s evil side.
Having Hook be chosen to be resurrected when RH literally jumped in front of a soul destroying bolt of magic to protect his love is bleh. So if he is to return (for good) I guess I can deal if its well written,
