(Heck, if for some reason EQ and Regina could not remerge, I am sure if EQ gave up her revenge and started making decisions to be a better person the Charmings, and eventually Storybrooke, would accept her too.

I also mentioned a few weeks ago that she could be fighting to exist independent of Hero! Regina.
The part about fighting to exist independent of Regina, is something I have wished for them to put more emphasis on from the beginning of this storyline. They still might use that in the end and I DOO think this already IS part of her motivation, but they should have pointed to it more in dialogue and in the writing in general, in my opinion. This is a very solid reason and motivation for Evil Queen. Like Ive talked about on here before- She is not a real person yet, as long as she has those ties to Regina that prevents her from dying unless Regina dies, she will only be Regina’s “shadow” (talking Jung psychology here -*brushes of my imaginary professor hat)
There is a fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen called “The Shadow” which is about a Man who become separated from his shadow. And after long years of failed attempts by the Shadow to persuade the Man to become its shadow, the story ends with the shadow killing the Man in order to become the Real One.
Evil Queen wants love. I didn’t think so in the beginning of the season, but we have seen she wants Henry’s acceptance and she wants to “own him” which was also Regina’s understanding of how to love someone in season 1. She has, all predatory like,, gone after Rumple to get his “love” she has used different words, because I believe she doesn’t understand that it is love that she needs, so she says she wants him on “her team” She wants Zelena on her team too, but is so screwed up in her mind that she falls for Rumple’s schemes to get her to choose him over her sister, because Evil Queen thinks she needs power more then she needs love- this is also an effect of her not knowing what love is -The strongest magic as we all know.
The revenge on Snow was always Regina projecting her pain and anger to something she could understand. That is why it gives her no form of satisfaction. But it was what motivated her. Perhaps revenge as a motivation is now gone, or perhaps she is now going to direct it elsewhere —say Emma!
Going forward Evil Queens other motivations are presumable still- Trying to become Real. Trying to get her son Henry to be hers. Trying to fill the hole inside her, which is what she needs love for, but this is not understandable for her, she is incapable of getting this.. Regina did, but it took her years and that understanding must have left Evil Queen when Regina left.
