After three episodes, my feelings are mixed. I’m really liking the ‘World Ending’ storyline, especially the tough decisions and conversations that come with that. This is what I signed up for in S4, and what I want to see more of. On the downside, the Azgeda arc isn’t doing it for me. It’s realistic, but I’m not finding it interesting. I feel like the Ice Nation conflict was prematurely curtailed in 3A, when they were being set up as the season’s ‘big bad’. Now, I’m just not in the mood to return to it. It doesn’t help that Echo seems pretty one dimensional and Roan hasn’t been developed beyond what we saw in S3.
Other thoughts
– The show started with 100, will it end with 100?
– Jasper is REALLY annoying. As harsh as it sounds, I wish they’d let him commit suicide. He’s being completely self centred, and still unnecessarily antagonistic to Clarke. I wish someone would slap him and remind him that he’s not the only one who’s been through stuff. They all just seem to let him get away with being a jerk.
– How is Monty still so functional after being forced to kill his mother? Poor Monty.
– Octavia’s a total badass, and surprisingly centred after losing Lincoln. Anyone else think that Octavian is going to become a ship?
– Indra has a daughter. Cool.
– Was Bellamy right to choose farm station survivors over the hydrogenerator?
– How on earth is it good policy to let Clarke make a list of people and then keep it under wraps? Shouldn’t this sort of thing be discussed? Be done using some sort of framework that accounts for how much each person can contribute, what their likelihood of survival is etc? Clarke making a list by herself and then hiding it just seems very unrealistic.
