I would agree that I think they could build a show around Regina. I think this is the right move for a few reasons. One, she’s the best written character on the show. Two, her happy ending isn’t going to come this season (if happy ending means finding the one you love and going off into the sunset). It would be a shame if she never found love again after Robin.
I don’t get how they are going to finish off Regina’s arc or even what it is anymore. The problem being that Regina has been finished off for a couple of seasons now. Really, the entire show has been finished off and that is why it doesn’t really work because it doesn’t have a plot. The plot went with Neal and so it has just been sort of existing now.
This is actually the one character that I don’t feel has dragged on and or felt that their arc was done a couple seasons ago. I still think Regina’s character has a lot more to tell. At this point, she may be the most human and most realistic character on the show. If Emma takes a bow and goes off with Hook, or if she dies, it opens the door up for Regina to be the hero of the story and bring her arc full circle. Yeah. she’s been a “hero for a while now, but she hasn’t really done anything since taking down Zelena in 3b. She’s just been dealing with her inner demons and what not. Let her be the hero and finish her story for season 7. Most everyone loves Regina. That’s the only way people would watch a season 7 I feel. No one who loves Regina is going to feel like her story got wrapped up nicely if she’s done after this season….especially after alternative reality Robin doesn’t work out. She will be in a tough place once again coming down the stretch here. There’s not enough time to give her a happy ending.
