What on earth is ER?  CS fans would probably stop watching if CS got wrapped up.  So that makes sense.  But from my standpoint, I would still watch the show if Regina became the main character.

I know people don’t want to admit anything but Regina is very much a divisive character in the fandom especially after all the focus she’s had this season. Which has not been well written whatsoever. She’s as much loved as she is hated, especially going by Adam’s mentions and things on Twitter. Her and Hook are this way and have been for a while now.

And this is just something I don’t see as much.  Maybe I’m not on the right forums but I don’t think she’s as divisive as you are saying.  People usually either love her for her EQ days and being a sassy boss or love her for turning over a new leaf and being a hero.  Many, like myself, love both of these things.  I’m sure some people hate her….but she’s not on the same level as Hook or Rumple for instance.  I will also disagree on the writing so far this season.  I’ve enjoyed most of it.  It’s way better than anything they’ve done since season 3a.  At least I’ve enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to all these plot points they dangled in the first half to come to fruition.

I think her story has more to do with family (Henry, Snow, and even co parenting with Emma) instead of a love interest which makes her much more relatable and likable.

If they kept it this way, that would be best.  She doesn’t need a love interest.  I completely agree that her love has always been for Henry and Robin, and without Robin, it’s all about Henry and her family.  Many of her relationships with people have become the most evolved too.  Like her and Snow.  Or her and Emma.  Or her and Henry for that matter.  And these family relationships are important for the show.  I don’t care if some select people hate her.  It’s hard to argue that she hasn’t been the most relatable and influential person on the show and her character alone, because of how far she has come and the relationships she has mended (but still having a constant struggle) is why she is the only character that could handle a spin off.  And her story should be far from over.
