The like five random times they have interacted does not mean they are friends
I think this might be the biggest takeaway and it goes back to what is, possibly, the biggest problem with OUAT. All other problems come back to this: too much plot, not enough character. The characters aren’t given room to breathe and interact and develop because of all the PLOT PLOT PLOT. The constant plot, the constant MacGuffins, the constant villains or new-character-of-the-episode forces our characters to constantly be focused on those things instead of any sort of internal or interpersonal work.
For example, this is best scene in the most recent True Love stories like Zades and Ruby Slippers.
