Does anyone else think Black Fairy might actually have some genuine twisted affection for Gideon?
I thought that was already clear since “Mother’s Little Helper”. She treated Gideon differently than the normal babies she took, even calling him “special” or whatever it was she said. She also felt genuinely disappointed, when Gideon tried to betray her. There also seemed to be a hint of jealousy towards Belle, when Rumple pointed out how a part of Gideon’s “real mother” was in him. I think one reason she has a soft spot for Gideon is because he’s her biological Grandson. Maybe she didn’t really want to give up Rumple like we were assumed to believe, but was forced into doing so for reasons to be explored in her upcoming backstory. Gideon is also capable of performing magic, which is possibly a side effect of Rumple being the Dark One when he was conceived. That could have made Gideon even more attractive to Black.
