We have no idea what the state of play will be by the end of season 3, or even half way through season 3. The story may very well progress in such a way that Hook is still a vital part of it. Given the huge fan following the character has, I’d be surprised if they wrote him out of the show at any point in the foreseeable future. Very very very true. Also, it’s important to remember that Hook is connected to the family has more or less integrated himself into the clan. His relationship with Bae, for instance, can be explored along side Bae’ relationship with Rumple. Also, while I personally don’t ship them, Hook does have chemistry and a connection to Emma. There is also a potential for friendship with Charming (and in the far future, Rumple).

I really hope they don’t have Rumple play Ursula. Maybe it’s because I love the Little Mermaid a lot but I’d like a new person. And she has to call our heroes poor unfortunate souls.
