Great topic! Breaking Bad is one of my favorite TV shows and I can’t help but see extremely strong parallels between Rumple and Walter White’s character arcs. Both start out similarly: meek, soft-spoken, gentle and somewhat bullied. Both start with the intention of protecting/providing for their families, which goes terribly wrong. Both eventually begin embracing their power and role as Heisenberg/Dark One. And, while this hasn’t been entirely confirmed in Breaking Bad, I’m pretty sure both end up losing their families as a result.

OMG. OMG. OMG. No you didn’t just bring up Breaking Bad! I worship that show! I completely agree. Rumpel/Gold is very much like Walter White. It’s almost eerie how similar they are. 😮

Another infamous character Rumpel reminds me of is Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vadar. He starts off wanting to protect his loved ones, but in his quest for answers, ends up becoming the very thing he hated the most.
