Blue Fairy: Fairy dust is the most precious substance in all the land. Its magic is what powers the world.

IMO, the Blue Fairy doesn’t seem to be overtly evil. Yet, I think she has a very utilitarian kind of ethics: the greatest good for the greatest number. She didn’t seem to care about the happiness of an individual dwarf or even an individual fairy, since each one has his or her place in the overall hierarchy of society. Both fairies and dwarves are critical to harvesting magic, which is what powers the world, according to the Blue Fairy in episode 14. She likes order and wants the fairytale realm to continue to exist as it always has. She doesn’t like Rumpel, because he plays by his own rules. She tried to get rid of Rumpel in episode 19 by giving a magic bean to Bealfire to take his father to a land without magic. I think “right” side did refer to “good side” in her own mind. Though her intentions may be good, the outcome may not be. Look what happened when Rumpel didn’t go with Bae. He became resolved to enact a dark curse that would take all of FTL to a land without magic–the very opposite of what the Blue Fairy wants. She lives and breathes magic, and to her, it’s the most precious substance of all.
