I think they avoid using actual place names for a reason. Belle isn’t mentioned to be French. Lancelot said he comes from a Kingdom, didn’t say United Kingdom. Also you kind of argue against your own point.

if we ever see her backstory, her land will look very medieval China, but it won’t be CHINA

You’re right, so even though Frankie’s world looks like Tranyslyvania it’s not and I doubt it will ever be called that. If we ever see Lancelot’s kingdom they will probably throw in some dated British stereotype, like the accent that no one actually speaks in, or bad teeth etc, but it won’t be Britian and will never be called Britain. (Camelot maybe, but they won’t mention where it is)

Crest, I think you’re having a difficult time understanding the concept of a “fictional” Transylvania, vs the a real Transylvania. They can call Victor’s world “Schnitzel World” for all I care. The point is, it will be reflective of what we, movie viewers, have come to think of Transylvania being. That is a world full of gothic horror stories.

Using real characters or real places HAS already been done, As per Jane Espenson: “Alice in Wonderland is based on a very real Alice Lydell (we’ve seen Wonderland) & Hook is based on real legends of real pirates.” Besides, Adam Horowitz has said, in reply to someone stating that a character was real, that it doesn’t matter who we think they base a character on. Work is fictional. This is their show, their rules and they can write what they want. If they want to write a “fictional” world called Transylvania, then they will do it.
