I think people were likely irritated before they even opened the thread, just because the word “shippers” was in the title. Just looking at the title alone, it reads like, “CaptainSwan shippers are gross,” not, “CaptainSwan is gross and I think it’s weird to ship them,” which is obviously the point you were trying to make, which is fair enough because you’re entitled to have that opinion of CaptainSwan. I think had the word “shippers” not been in the thread title, people wouldn’t have gotten so riled up. When you think someone is saying YOU personally are gross, then of course that’s gonna immediately put you on the defensive, no matter the situation.
