Now if it is Hook himself then that is something that should be allowed no matter what. If it does not break the terms of service then have enough grace to accept it without the intimidation and defensiveness (which I have already seen in here).

I think that people feel so passionately about this character that sometimes the line gets blurred, and if people don’t like Hook and state that in an emphatic way, his fans feel it as an attack, and as though they need to defend him, and themselves for loving him.

So how could the two possibly exist long-term in the same town, because I just don’t see it.

What you say about their neverending grudge preventing them from coexisting is a fair enough point. I think it’d be too simplistic and boring of a storyline for them to just kill Hook off and eliminate the problem though, (because yeah, if one of them has to die, they won’t be getting rid of Rumple).

I think it’d make for far more interesting storytelling if they develop each character in his own right, having them mature and deal with their issues. I’m not necessarily talking about full on redemption for either of them, I’m just saying that it’d be interesting to see them learn from their mistakes. I think that could lead to a situation where each of them is mature enough to set aside the blind rage. They’ll never be BFFs, but if each of them is developed to a point where he can accept his own faults and responsibilities in this situation, then I can see that eventually they could tolerate each other’s existence.

One of the things this show is big on is showing that even the baddest of the baddies weren’t born that way, something happened to corrupt them, and now they’re being given chances to make amends. The show reflects real life in that way. None of us are perfect, we all make mistakes, and when we’re given the opportunity to make up for it, it’s a struggle to make the correct choices. So I think that keeping Hook as a bad guy and just killing him off because he’s an inconvenience to Rumple would be far too simplistic, wouldn’t challenge the writers at all, and would be a contradiction to the moral of the show.
