Not just his role in breaking Neal and Emma up, but also a resolution of how he left her as a baby. They should have shown Emma acknowledging that she now believes, and that he played a role in that, and shown her understanding where he’d come from and why he ran away and left her. They had the makings of a strong friendship if they’d let them work through all of that. Now it’s wasted potential and dropped threads of character development.

I agree 100%. This could have been a really fantastic moment for Emma. She could have told August that even though she had a really rough life, him leaving her lead to her son and being reunited with her family, and believing that she is the savior which saved everyone! There was so much more they needed to do with that scene.

Just…completely agree. August was so neatly tied to the key players…to Emma, Henry, Bae, Blue Fairy, Mr. Gold. All that careful story-building…wasted. Utterly wasted.
