I’m not sure why Dr. Whale would do that, but I don’t think Charming should have hit him for having a one night stand with Snow unless there was something more going on since he slept with Abigail before part of the Curse was broken.
I think the main difference here is that there Charming thought he was married to Abigail due to the curse, and thus thought he was honoring their supposed marriage. Dr. Whale slept with MM and then didn’t really persue her. Charming might take this to be a less than honorable way to treat MM, even though Dr. Whale was cursed.

One big question is who is this guy below? Colin O’Donoghue (Hook)? It doesn’t look like him. He’s not Prince Phillip or Noah Bean, as have been guessed. It could be a new character entirely, but he is dressed in FTL-like clothing. Also, as someone speculated, it’s a Halloween episode, so it could be he’s dressed in a costume for the holiday.
