If Regina tried to use Belle against Rumpel, all he’d have to ask Regina is to “Please” let Belle go and she would have to comply. I’d rather see Belle escape because then you can see Regina panicking about what will happen if Rumpel discovers Belle and you can see Rumpel’s true feelings towards Belle’s reappearance without having to put up a front for Regina.
