I think he was fueled by several factors.

1: I think he is actually trying to change.

2: He IS generally nice to children. I suspect it’s because of Bae.

3: He does seem to like Henry well enough.

BUT these factors, although I think they’re true, aren’t enough for Gold.

I also think that

4: Henry gives him a link to outside realms. If he’s stuck in Storybrooke with essentially no way out, any link to the outside is very helpful.

5: Henry might be able to find out where Hook is for him? If he can communicate/control other realms, surely Henry wouldn’t be adverse to just… asking if Hook is around.

6: Henry is maybe the only person, besides Emma, who can leave Storybrooke. And he’s connected to Emma. So if he can get into their good books, it’s not altogether unselfish. haha.

Any thoughts? Agree/disagree?
