I don’t think that’s Rumpelstiltskin. He is too tiny to be able to spin straw to gold also there is no scene in the original fairy tale which would fit to this illustration. The most Rumplestilskin illustrations shows him with the miller’s daughter or dancing around his and singing his rhyme.

I have no idea who this tiny man is. I was thinking about that the he might be something like the Thumbling or Tom Thumb, but he looks more like an imp or some little elf. Maybe he is a Kobold or an elf. But I have no idea from which tale/story he is.
