If “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” taught us anything about the Holy Grail, it’s that it’s NOT the fanciest goblet, so if that cup at Rumple’s place was meant to be the Grail, they stuffed up with the props. 😉

I really hope that we don’t see the Holy Grail … though its forever joined to Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table stories thanks to T.H. White and Monty Python, it is also an icon of religion and faith. To bring an icon of faith into a show about fairy tales may cross a couple of boundaries.
I like the mention of it – the acknowledgment of it in a speech … but aside from the issues mentioned about, I really don’t think that there is any need for eternal life in FTL…
I tend to agree. It’s getting dangerously close to a line that’s best to steer clear of crossing. If they went there, they’d have to tread carefully. They are telling us with this show that all these characters are real, so it’s not like they’d exactly be turning the Holy Grail into a fictional object. But it’s an object of great significance in a real religion in our world, and writing it as though it’s part of a collection of fairytales and myths set in an alternate reality could potentially offend a whole lot of people. The vague mention of it was fine, as it was a nice little nod to Lancelot’s legend, but getting specific about that story could end up as a hot mess.
